Art Night: “First Hand” 25 Years Later

October 2 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Art Night in Charlottetown returns Friday, October 2nd, with a special event for Women’s History Month!

Twenty-five years ago, a public history of women’s contributions to the arts, crafts, and culture was published online! At this Art Night in Charlottetown, learn more about the project called “First Hand” created by the PEI Advisory Council on the Status of Women and Interministerial Women’s Secretariat at the turn of the millennium, and take in a panel on what has emerged in arts, crafts, and culture by women and gender-diverse artists and artisans across the island since then!

“First Hand: 25 Years Later” will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge at UPEI (Main Building) on October 2 with a reception, art activities, and demonstrations. Then we will move on to a panel discussion at 6:00 p.m.

This project is being coordinated in partnership with the Chairs Circle for Gender Equality, and Art Night in Charlottetown is supported by the City of Charlottetown Arts and Culture Grants. “First Hand: 25 Years Later” is supported by InnovationPEI Community Cultural Partnerships.
