Funding to Explore Social Enterprise

By Funding, Training No Comments

Social Enterprise is an increasingly common way for arts organizations to reduce their dependence on government funding. The Investment Readiness Program offered through the Community Foundation of PEI is a great way to develop a social enterprise for your organization.

The Investment Readiness Program is a $50M fund whose aim is to help social purpose organizations’ (charities, non-profits, social enterprises, for-profits with a social purpose and co-operatives) build their capacity to participate in Canada’s growing social finance market. The first round of applications to the program were accepted in Jan/Feb 2020 and five PEI organizations received non-repayable capital through Round 1. The application period for Round Two of the IRP will open on September 8, 2020 and close on October 9, 2020.

To help Social Purpose Organizations in PEI learn more about social finance and be better prepared to submit an eligible application for Round 2, the Community Foundation of PEI (CFPEI) in partnership with the McConnell Foundation is pleased to offer free online engagement sessions/workshops led by the McConnell Foundation , specific to the needs of PEI participants. The sessions/workshops will be delivered in mid-August. Interested participants are asked to complete and submit an intake form at to determine which session/workshop would best meet your needs and stage of investment readiness.

In order to deliver the workshops in advance of the Round 2 application period, intake forms must be submitted by July 30, 2020.

If you have any questions about the IRP or the online engagement sessions/workshops please contact Cathy McPhail, CFPEI IRP Coordinator at
