About our workspace

A 2500 sq. ft space conveniently located at 85 Fitzroy Street in Charlottetown offers creators a place to undertake a range of different activities.

From painters to poets, cartoonists to coders, and fashion designers to film editors, creative professionals of all kinds will find a place to create and connect with a supportive community of peers

Semi-private micro-studios and semi-private workstations are available to rent on a monthly basis.

We’re looking forward to seeing what can happen when movers and shakers from across the sector come together to share space, knowledge, and ideas regularly.

Why Now?

In 2020, CreativePEI held public consultations with members of the creative community to determine the feasibility of establishing a Creative Hub for PEI. We envisioned one or more vibrant and collaborative spaces where individuals and organizations from a range of arts and creative disciplines can build their skills, create, collaborate, and innovate. In July of 2022 we became aware of a large office space available for rent that could serve as one of these collaborative spaces.

What do we offer?

We are happy to be able to offer the following:

  • “Mini-studio” or semi-private office space available on a monthly basis for $180 + tax per month

All members of the community space with be able to access the following shared resources:

  • Bookable Meeting Room for up to 8 people
  • Bookable Video Production Studio
  • Shared Printer
  • Mobile TV that can display your device or computer’s screen
  • Passcode Entry
  • Accessible building located in downtown Charlottetown
  • Private “Phone Booth” rooms for calls or meetings of 2 or 3 people

Accessibility:

  • Loading Zone about 15 feet from main building entrance
  • Elevator about 12 feet inside the main entrance doors
  • Push to enter doors
  • Accessible washrooms

Are you a good fit for our space?

We are looking to share our space with those who have a sincere desire to see both their creative practice and PEI’s creative sector as a whole grow and succeed.

We are looking for creators who are going to make things happen or arts administrators looking to push the sector forward.

Our shared workspace is meant to be used by people who work in the creative industries including: Craft, Dance, Design, Education and Libraries, Festivals and Venues, Film and Television, Museums and Heritage, Music, Theatre and Performance, Visual Art, Video Games & Digital Media, Writing and Publishing. If your main focus is not in one of these sub-sectors then you are likely not an ideal fit for our space.

If you spend the majority of your time working in fields like business development, marketing, information technology, etc. you might be a better fit for a place like the Startup Zone – startupzone.ca.
